Mr. Gilpatric, a co-founder of the firm, was born in Washington, D.C. and was admitted to the Bars in both Massachusetts and New York in 1970. He graduated from Harvard College and Fordham University School of Law. He is a member of the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Associations. He has been admitted to practice before the US Tax Court and the US District Court, District of Massachusetts. He has been designated by Martindale Hubbell as an ‘AV’ rated attorney. Mr. Gilpatric’s practice has focused on estate planning, trust management, estate administration, corporate and business entities, real estate issues for individuals and families, and income taxes, including individual and fiduciary. Many of Mr. Gilpatric’s clients are from or referred by families the firm has represented for many years, going back two and three generations.

Mr. Pell, a partner of the firm, was born in Orange, New Jersey. He graduated from Dartmouth College and Cornell University School of Law. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1981, and is also admitted to practice before the US Tax Court and the US District Court, District of Massachusetts. He has practiced with King & Gilpatric since 1982, focusing on estate planning, trust management, estate administration, corporate and business entities, representing buyers and sellers of real estate, and individual and fiduciary income taxes.

Christopher P. Carr (email)

Mr. Carr, a partner of the firm, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1993 and has also been admitted to practice before the US Tax Court. He graduated from Rutgers School of Law – Camden in 1993 and received his Bachelor of Arts from Boston College in 1986. Mr. Carr specializes in estate planning and administration, including estate planning for those with special needs, but also practices in a number of areas that affect the estate planning of his clients, such as taxation, real estate and the formation and operation of business entities.
